We went on a bike tour of Copenhagen with Mike last week (late March). I am not a great cyclist and was a bit nervous, but I immediately felt safe in the care of Mike. He suited us up with bikes and helmets, explained how he does his tours - regular stops at key areas where he tells interesting and entertaining anecdotes about the city - and off we went. Copenhagen is made for cyclists, so we had absolutely no trouble with traffic or hills (there aren't any). Mike is a huge asset to the city of Copenhagen - he has a phenomenal knowledge of its history and deep devotion to its story. Throughout the day, Mike showed us parts of the city we simply wouldn't have seen any way else. By the time we got to the end, we'd learned a huge amount, had a spectacular day out, and made a friend in Mike. I can't recommend his tours more highly. Alexandra Hammond, London

The City Tour is a fantastic introduction to Copenhagen!

In Summary:

An unforgettable encounter of impressions with Copenhagen of yesterday and today - including the Citys amazing bike-revolution! The bike tour takes you right through the guts of medieval Copenhagen, covers 12 kms, includes min. 10 talk-stops and not the least: all the great sights of the city. Its an easy and comfortable bike experience which suits all ages!

We will bike through old, historical Copenhagen along the cobblestoned streets and straits, alleys, over bridges and under arches. The tour will introduce you to: The Latin Quarter, Old City Square, onwards we will bike in the footsteps of the legendary Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard to Castle Island - the cradle of Copenhagens history - with Christiansborg Palace, the tranquil courtyard of the Royal Danish Library, the Jewish museum, the Black Diamond and the stunning Stock Exchange from the era of King Christian the Fourth. Crossing the harbour to Christianshavn with its authentic atmosphere, historic and contemporary architecture, cosy canals and the centuries old fortification ramparts.
Then back across the bridge, along the harbour with fine views, into Nyhavn with its maritime atmosphere and home to H C Andersen in his days. The Royal Danish Playhouse Theater building is a showcase of extrodinary architecture. Along the harbour we are offered majestic views of the Opera House, Christianshavn and the new Danish landmark of windmills. Onwards to the very approachable and homy Royal Palace - home for the Danish Royal family. The Marble Church with its impressive sized dome. Finally biking home through the narrow streets/straits of the old city with its wonderful atmosphere and smells from the many speciality shops.

Talk-stops along the route will get you onside with the history of Copenhagen and its present life - including the bike revolution, the Royal history, architecture eras, Danish politics of today, Danish way of life, Søren Kierkegaard, H. C. Andersen etc.!

(If you wonder where the Little Mermaid is on the bike tour, she isnt to be located this year, as she has gone to Shanghai, China until November to take part in the Danish share of the World Expo).

A review of the City Tour by LP in August 2008 stated:
"Probably the best bike tour in the world"!
