"I never had in my mind Copenhagen is such a beautiful city, thank you for a fantastic tour".
Robert, Brussels, Belgium
"The BIKE way is the way to see any city, also Copenhagen. The city has lots of culture in one spot. Lots of green parks, water and spacy areas. Good cafees in plenty. From what you told us Mike, I think the Monarchy and Christiania has one thing in common: the Danish Tourism Board wont let any of them disappear! Like your cheeky way of biking us close up to the action".
Pete, USC, Los Angeles, CA
"It was a great bike tour with you Mike around Copenhagen. I was surprised of how beautiful the city is. Thank you".
Vivian, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
"Mike, to put it simple: your bike tour is simply the best one anywhere I have tried bike tours. Keep it up, mate!"
Richard, London

Who let the dog out?
On August 22nd 2008 the wonderful Beagle dog Hazel became the first dog to run the Bike Copenhagen with Mike City Tour.
Hazel came all the way from Leipzig, Germany to "run with Mike" together with her owner Susi, who chose to bike.
No participant in the history of the Bike with Mike tours has ever consumed so much water enroute as Hazel did. It seemed like Hazel very much fell in love with Copenhagen. Well done Hazel and Susi and thanks for coming along!

Royal Company
Denmarks old, grand king C.4 became part of Dutch company XTNTs team building seminar on a Bike with Mike tour of wonderful Copenhagen, as Arnold took the royal stage in addressing his colleagues. Read the story on the Induvidual Tour page.

Bike Copenhagen with Mike - Best way to explore Copenhagen!
Guest Statement, on August 26th 2008:
"All, After seven city bike rides throughout Europe and the US, Mike's Bike Tour is by far the best. Not only does Mike guide you through his city's highlights, he also takes you on a fascinating ride into the Danish psyche, answering pointed questions in flawless English about his fellow city & country folk with a zeal which does not belie his enthusiasm for his hometown. And a stunning hometown it is. Mike is supremely generous and gracious with his personal anecdotes, historical knowledge and his singular choice of city-sights. And after he sort of slapped hands with (or high-fived) one of the originating residents of Christianshavn (twice!) while bicycling us through the beautiful inner-city suburb, then I instantly knew that Mike had definite street cred. The tour is worth every kroner spent."
Groetjes, Monique and sister Nicole, Amsterdam, Holland and Madison, Wisconsin, USA, respectively.

Welcome to Bike Copenhagen with Mike
- adventurous and informative guided bike tours in Copenhagen.

All necessary practical information regarding the tours and an overview of the tour programme is located further down on this page!

2010 season for open bike tours commence on March 5th.

Intro to the Bike Tours
Discover the famous sights, experience Copenhagens bike revolution:
"Cycling in Copenhagen brings us closer to the life of the city and the people who inhabit it. Your fellow citizens are right there next to you, propelling themselves effortlessly through the urban landscape. We are one with our town on our bicycles".
and get off the main tourist trail, when Mike guides you along the high roads, low roads, in-roads and off-roads of Copenhagen. On the bike you will explore far more of Copenhagens old history, friendly architecture, modern design, many worlds within the city and relaxed atmosphere, than any motorized tour can provide.
Your guide Mike - Copenhagens undisputed king of the road and every mothers nightmare of a son-in-law = a cocktail making up a political incorrect guide!! - is a born-and-bred Copenhagener. He knows the ins and outs of his city, has sound historical knowledge plus lots of personal anecdotes of the high and low life in Copenhagen, which all willingly are shared around for your information and enjoyment during the talk-stops of these unpretensious bike tours.

All Bike Mike tours includes:
1. A biking sight-seeing tour, you will see the big sights but also be taken off the beaten track!
2. Talk-stops, getting off the bikes to share history and present life style topics about Copenhagen!
3. Experience first hand the unique bicycle culture of Copenhagen - my bike tours are first and foremost BIKE TOURS!! And by choosing the bike as your way of transporting yourself sightseeing Copenhagen, you travel the carbon neutral way.
Nothing beats the wonderful, mediative feeling of gliding through the many worlds of the city on a bike. Having the city doing the talking to you, brings alive the old wise words of the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard:
"The highest and most beautiful things in life are not to be heard about, nor read about, nor seen but, if one will, are to be lived."

Happy bikers off their bikes in front of the Opera House

In other words: When we stop, we talk - when we bike, we let the city do the talking!
Tour pace and difficulty: All tours are leisurely and relaxed paced suiting all ages who can bike and maintains a reasonable fitness level. Beware; if you suffer from lifestyle problems, you ought to consider if an outdoor experience like a bike tour is suited for you!  Cruise speed is max. 15 km/h (slow to local Copenhageners) on the City Tour and the By Night Tour. The Countryside Tour travels at min. 20 km/h and requires solid fitness. Copenhagen is flat as a pancake, the city centre is plastered with more than 375 kms of bike lanes. Windy conditions - not a problem on the City Tour - but a force to be reckoned with on the Countryside Tour in the open land - just another of natures beautiful challenges !
Safety on tour: Everything is done to look after the safety of the group, but your bike skills and attention to the road ahead is vital for a safe journey. Mike bikes along with more than 45 years of bike experience, but he cant control your bike, your bike is your responsibility - this is important to fully undertand! We practice "zero tolerance" towards alcohol and drugs on the bike tours!! Your bike is always well maintained and every tour has a brief introduction of how to stay safe on tour. Helmet is not compulsory in Denmark, but is an option if you choose so.
Cruiseboat passengers: Please go to the Tour pages - i.e. City Tour - and you will find a description of how to get to Bike with Mike from the docking area.

Mikes personal advice:
I love cycling and my hometown of Copenhagen and sharing these passions of mine with others on my bike tours, I find very satisfying.
Most of my guests tells me, that the bike experience through the many worlds of Copenhagen is a great one and the hip way to discover beautiful Copenhagen.
From my experience over these past two years of Bike Copenhagen with Mike, I will draw your attention to the following - before deciding to come along on one of my bike tours:
# You can bike and enjoy the outdoors,
# All bike tours are a part of daily Copenhagen life, so we have
to fit in - not the other way around!
# My tours aim at delivering an authentic Copenhagen experience rather than being just another consumer concept!
# Safety of guests is a very high priority and there are guidelines
in writing to manage the safety on tour which have to be read
and accepted by you prior to departure.
#  An open mind is a plus - I like diversity and my verbal guidance is far from muzak - elevator music - to the ears of the set minds!
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding and visiting my website. Please feel free to contact me via Contact Mike in the main menu if any questions - otherwise, what are you waiting for, just hop on the bike and come along and experience the Copenhagen bike revolution together with me.

Happy biking & travels,
Mike
